About NAHAD
NAHAD - The Association for Hose and Accessories Distribution. (For more information, please go to www.nahad.org)
NAHAD provides its members with the latest information, ideas and insight, year-round, to help run their businesses more successfully every day. Association services help members to meet the dynamic and changing needs of the industry and help to foster a sense of partnership and support between distributors and manufacturers.
A key focus for the organization is improving the industry. As such, the NAHAD Hose Assembly Guidelines project was initiated in 1993, with the specific goal of ensuring safer, higher quality and more reliable hose assemblies. Utilizing existing hose and fittings technical recommendations published by other sources as a foundation, scores of NAHAD member volunteers worked to craft a common set of hose assembly recommendations that would provide a new basic performance standard for the industry. NAHAD's Hose Assembly Guidelines serve to do just that, setting a benchmark for safety, quality and reliability for Industrial, Hydraulic, Corrugated Metal, Fluoropolymer and Composite hose assemblies.
NAHAD is governed by a board of directors and committee volunteers, each elected to ensure the association’s success. Committees include:
- NAHAD Executive Committee – acts on behalf of the board of directors between semi-annual board meetings in order to monitor the progress of all committees and task groups
- NAHAD Training & Education Committee – oversees the development of a variety of member training services
- NAHAD Standards Committee – charged with overseeing the online Hose Assembly Guidelines (HAG) program, including managing the process of reviewing, updating, and delivering this program to the members
- NAHAD Manufacturer/Associate Members Committee – responsible for maintaining open communication lines between members and the Board of Directors
- NAHAD Membership Development Committee – this committee reviews all applications for membership, conducts an annual recruitment campaign, and monitors membership retention practices
- NAHAD Program Services Committee – coordinates a variety of member programs including the NAHAD Executive Forum Program, the bi-annual Industry Performance Analysis Report (PAR), the bi-annual Cross Industry Distributor Compensation Survey, and a variety of discounted programs such as freight management, insurance, employee benefits, and much more
